Our Inaugural Open House - The Aftermath

On January 10, 2006, the Northwest Ohio Chapter officially became the newest chapter in the Johnny Appleseed District!

Approximately 200 people were in attendance, including the 35-man "Launch Chorus. (We were hoping for about 50 - boy, were we surprised!) Amongst the "dignitaries" present were Dave Calland (director of "The Alliance" chorus of Central Ohio, and 2-time International silver-medalist), Rod Nixon (bari of 1997 champs "Yesteryear"), Randy "Beef" Baughman (bass of "Yesteryear"), and Mark Blake (lead of "Yesteryear", the 2005-2006 JAD President, and our chapter president). Most of the surrounding Barbershop Harmony Society chapters were represented, with members of Maumee Valley (Toledo), Black Swamp (Toledo), Fostoria, Defiance, and Greater Central Ohio (Columbus).

During the evening's festivities, the "Launch Chorus" performed several songs, including two contestable arrangements. Just a taste of the powerhouse that is to come!
